Bangladesh remains one of the most disaster-prone regions in the world. Flash floods, monsoon rains, and even cyclones have regularly wreaked havoc on the country’s farming and fishing communities over the years.
To help victims survive in the immediate aftermath of a disaster, you can provide them with food packs. A significant provision of staple foods can help them in their recovery phase as they pick up the pieces of their life once again.
How you’ve Helped
The northern district of Kurigram is one of Bangladesh’s poorest districts. Bordering India, it has regularly suffered flash floods from the several major rivers that flow through it.
In August this year, some of the worst floods in years submerged over 7,000 hectares of land and displaced around 20,000 families.
Due to the area’s remoteness, very few NGOs could respond with help. RDF Global was one of them. We delivered food supplies to hundreds of families, helping them recover as the waters receded.
